FAQ
General Questions
Elite Medical Associates accepts most major insurances (the list of accepted insurances is constantly growing). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your Concierge physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
The Elite Wellness Program includes access to lab tests, screenings and diagnostics that go beyond what is typically included in a basic physical exam. These tests, for example, have been shown to identify 40 percent more people at risk for heart attack or stroke compared to standard cholesterol tests. The detailed results of this additional testing, in combination with one-on-one counseling with your doctor, will be used to develop your customized wellness plan. It’s a more proactive approach to staying well—developing a clearer picture of your health risks and making a plan to minimize them.
Yes. Our practice accepts Medicare.
Doctors choose Concierge Medicine because they want to practice medicine the way they were trained. They want to have time with their patients, they want to focus more on preventing disease rather than just treating symptoms, and they want to utilize the more innovative tools available to them. These doctors want to make a real impact on their patients’ health, but the current healthcare system has gotten in their way, creating long waits, red tape and too little time for meaningful interaction. Many doctors also want to maintain their independence and keep their intimate office setting, so they choose concierge medicine rather than join a large group or hospital.
No. The annual fee for a membership in Elite Medical Associates pays for services not typically covered by your insurance and is not reimbursable by insurance.
Most labs and diagnostics (such as the blood draws, EKG, vision and hearing, body composition and others) at our office. For some, you may have to go to a local lab, radiologist or specialist to have your tests performed.
Yes! Our physicians check-in on patients at the hospital. This may include one or more visits, cell phone calls or discussions with your hospital physicians and consultants. Dr. Sharma has admitting privileges and is on staff at many local hospitals and can also treat you at the hospital. Either way, we want to support you. Remember, your physician may not automatically know that you are in the hospital, so please don’t hesitate to inform us.

Yes. After your annual wellness services have been provided, the Elite Medical Associates concierge membership fee may be reimbursed through Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Medical Savings Accounts (MSAs), or Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), depending on your plan.
If requested, our office will provide a detailed statement of services to support reimbursement submission through your plan administrator. Please note that reimbursement is typically processed through a claim submission, and the membership fee can be paid directly using an FSA debit or credit card.
Our team is happy to guide you through this process.
No. In most cases, the annual fee may be paid Monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, and you may use a major credit card or set up convenient automatic payments through a checking or savings account electronic debit option. Our practice wants to make sure this is easy for you so please let us know if there is anyway we can help!
For patients who itemize medical expenses on their tax returns, the annual fee may be deductible. Check with your tax advisor if you have specific questions.
If the initial evaluation was not performed, you may be eligible to receive a refund. If you have received the evaluation a refund is not available and any unpaid balance of the annual fee remains your responsibility. As more than 90 percent of patients in concierge Medicine practices around the country renew each year and patient satisfaction is consistently high, we believe you will be very satisfied with the program and your overall healthcare experience.
Your doctor may see your out-of-town guests for sick visits and urgent matters. Fees, insurance co-pays, coinsurance or deductibles may apply and if applicable out-of-network fees.
Your doctor will arrange for coverage with another concierge physician. You will receive contact information for the covering physician as needed.
Once you and your doctor have determined that an additional medical opinion is necessary or a recommended treatment is not available locally, your physician can work to help arrange for you to be seen at one of the Medical Centers of Excellence facilities, subject to your insurance, ability to travel and the facility’s requirements. This is optional and only offered at the request of your physician. It does not replace your local specialist or treatment centers.
No. The cost for the medical treatment you receive may be billed to you or your insurance, depending on your coverage. You or your doctor should verify that the facility accepts your insurance. Additional costs for treatment, travel and all other accommodations are your responsibility.

We’ll always tell you upfront if a service isn’t covered by insurance or Medicare.
Investigational & Advanced Therapies
Yes—only within IRB-approved investigational protocols when appropriate. These biologics are not FDA-approved to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. We offer them because we’re genuinely excited by their potential and follow the research closely—but we do not offer anything we believe is unsafe or that we wouldn’t consider for ourselves or our family. Participation is voluntary and carefully consented.
No. They’re separate from membership and billed independently. If you’re a candidate and wish to participate, we’ll review risks, alternatives, and costs in detail and monitor you closely.
We start with your goals (cognition, metabolism, body composition, endurance, recovery), review biomarkers and performance data, and then recommend options with the best risk/benefit fit. When evidence is early, we say so and keep your plan conservative.

About 30 days before your anniversary we review your year’s progress, refresh your plan, and discuss renewal. It’s a great time to set new goals and celebrate wins.
Book a welcome call → brief intake → submit membership payment → we schedule your initial comprehensive visit and coordinate any pre-visit labs. From day one, you feel the difference a limited, high-touch panel makes.
Therapy-specific FAQs
Evidence note: Some therapies below have established uses; others are emerging with early or mixed data. We’ll tell you what’s known, what’s unknown, and keep your plan conservative. Your safety and outcomes come first.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
HBOT delivers oxygen in a pressurized chamber; it is an established medical modality with specific, guideline-recognized indications.
Select members use HBOT to support recovery and cellular healing goals as part of a physician-guided longevity plan (not to treat a specific disease). We’ll screen carefully and set expectations. (Opinion based on practice approach.)
Relaxed sessions in a chamber with clinical monitoring; we screen for ear/sinus issues and other contraindications beforehand.
Photobiomodulation (Red/Near-IR Light)
Non-thermal red/near-infrared light used to modulate cellular processes.
Often to support tissue recovery and performance; we may pair it with training or recovery blocks. Evidence base is growing across a range of applications.
Comfortable, noninvasive sessions; we’ll recommend frequency/dose based on your goals and response. (Practice guidance.)
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields)
Low-frequency electromagnetic pulses applied to tissues. Reviews suggest potential benefits for pain/recovery with heterogeneous study quality.
Sometimes stacked with light or sauna on performance days to support circulation and recovery (adjunct, not a cure). (Practice guidance.)
Short sessions; we track your subjective and functional response over time.
NanoVi
A biophotonic adjunct marketed to support oxidative-stress resilience. High-quality randomized evidence is limited; we use it, when chosen, as a low-risk add-on with measured expectations. (Practice opinion; emerging evidence.)
As a brief add-on during clinic visits to complement recovery-focused blocks.
BrainTap + Neural Chek HRV
Guided neuro-sessions paired with heart rate variability (HRV) tracking; HRV is a well-described marker of autonomic balance and stress response.
To train stress resilience and focus and monitor adaptation over time.
Headset-based sessions; we trend HRV and adjust your plan accordingly. (Practice guidance.)
IV Ozone
An adjunct used in longevity circles; evidence and regulatory views are mixed and evolving. Some reviews report potential signals (e.g., in pain settings), while others highlight safety concerns and lack of robust efficacy. We require careful screening and informed consent.
Considered only for select members after a risk–benefit discussion.
Delivered in a controlled setting, not included in membership; billed separately.
Infrared Sauna / Cold Plunge (Contrast)
Heat and cold exposure used to train recovery, circulation, and stress tolerance. Sauna health associations are supported by observational and review data; cold-water immersion shows mixed but useful recovery effects in athletes.
To support cardiometabolic and recovery goals, personalized to your tolerance.
We set time/temperature targets conservatively and progress as appropriate.
Molecular Hydrogen / Halotherapy / Vibro-Acoustic
- Molecular hydrogen (H₂): Investigational antioxidant signaling modulator with expanding reviews; human data remain developing.
- Halotherapy (salt room): Proposed to support airway hygiene; evidence is adjuvant/early with variable quality; no major guidelines endorse routine use.
- Vibro-acoustic therapy (VAT): Sound-induced vibration for relaxation/pain; early studies and scoping reviews suggest potential; more rigorous trials are needed.
As adjuncts for targeted goals (respiratory ease, relaxation, stress modulation). We’ll be transparent about evidence strength and keep dosing modest.
Comfort-focused sessions, added only if the benefit-to-burden looks favorable for you.
Sports PT & Performance Testing
Objective testing (e.g., VO₂ max, RMR, DEXA, 3D movement) to personalize training, recovery, and body-composition strategy. CPET/VO₂ testing is the gold-standard for cardiorespiratory fitness assessment.
To make your plan data-driven—we calibrate training zones and track progress.
Lab-style testing with physician/exercise-physiology oversight; results feed directly into actionable tweaks.
Kindly note: membership fees are due in full at enrollment and become non-refundable once your initial visit begins. We’re happy to answer questions before you enroll so you can move forward with confidence.
